When solar control film makes sense
If a room becomes uncomfortable on sunny afternoons, if you avoid using a space at certain times of day, or if blinds are always closed to cope with brightness, solar control film is worth considering.
- Kitchen-diner extensions with roof lights
- Bifold and sliding doors facing the sun
- Loft conversions with large dormer glazing
- Bedrooms that overheat in summer
Choosing the right film
Solar control films range from almost clear to noticeably tinted or reflective. Darker and more reflective films generally manage more heat and glare but change the appearance more. We show samples on your glass so you can see the effect in your own light.
Performance varies by film and by glazing. We only quote figures from the manufacturer specification of the film we recommend for your windows, after a survey.
Compatibility with your glazing
Not every film suits every pane. Double glazing, laminated or toughened glass and older units are checked during the survey so the recommendation is compatible with your glass.
How it works
Send us photos and a few details. We discuss what you want the film to achieve, survey and measure suitable glazing, then professionally install the approved film internally, finishing with cleaning, care instructions and handover.
